What made it this trip, and no other
The Acropolis with an expert
A private morning on the hill and in the museum below it, with a guide who can read the stones.
Mykonos from the water
A Sea Fighter RIB from Ornos with its own skipper, snacks and drinks on board, along the island's south-coast beaches.
Platinum Club across the Aegean
The high-speed ferry from Mykonos to Santorini in the quiet front cabin, rather than the crowded deck.
Santorini beyond Oia
Profitis Ilias monastery, the villages of Pyrgos and Megalochori, and lunch in a village tavern.
Three wines, one village
A tasting of Santorini's volcanic wines at a small winery, to close the island day.
Why we built it this way
Fly to the islands, ferry between them in Platinum Club, fly back — no day is spent simply getting somewhere.
Two nights per island is enough when each has one private day built in. The rest is left open on purpose.
The final night at the airport hotel looks unglamorous on paper. It is the reason the last morning is breakfast and a short walk, not a 4 a.m. ferry and a taxi race.
This journey was built for someone else
