But they reward different temperaments, and the honest comparison is less about beauty — both have infinite reserves — than about the texture of the days you want.
The honeymoon as a long, golden meal
Italy is depth. A fortnight can move from the Amalfi Coast's vertical drama — Positano at dusk, a boat day along the cliffs to Capri — to a Tuscan farmhouse among the cypress rows of the Val d'Orcia, to Venice's absurd, operatic beauty as a finale.
