What made it this trip, and no other
Glenfinnan, timed to the minute
At the viaduct as the Jacobite steam train crosses — planned around the timetable, not left to luck.
The Old Man of Storr before dawn
The climb starts in the dark so the couple reach the pinnacles with the first light and almost no one else.
Talisker, behind the public tour
A premium tasting at the Skye distillery, with a picnic packed by the lodge's kitchen.
Urquhart Castle by water
Arriving at the ruins across Loch Ness by boat.
The Hawk Walk
A private session at Ashford Castle's falconry school, walking the woods with a hawk on the glove.
The Thames at golden hour
The first evening of the marriage, on a private boat with champagne.
Why we built it this way
The route runs south to north, then west — London, Edinburgh, Skye, Dublin, Mayo — and never doubles back.
City days and country days alternate on purpose. On Skye, the early starts are placed where crowds are thinnest: the Old Man of Storr before sunrise, Glenfinnan timed to the minute the train crosses. One chauffeur stays with the couple for all three Skye days, so the island is learned, not commuted.
The castle comes last. A honeymoon should end slower than it began.
