The Cyclades, before the crowds
Milos and Folegandros are where we send clients who want Greece without the queue for the sunset. Milos is volcanic and sculptural: white cliffs, coves reachable only by boat, and the coloured boathouses of Klima. Folegandros is smaller and quieter still. Pair either with two nights in Santorini for the icon, then let the journey slow down.
A crewed day around the south coast of Milos, with swimming stops and dinner on deck.
Fishermen's houses built into the rock, each with a brightly painted door.
The island's flagship hotel — and Skinopi Lodge for architectural calm.
Best time to goLate May to early October. Most island hotels close from November to April.
A starting point, not a package — every day is shaped around you.
Fly from Athens, or take the high-speed ferry from Santorini or Paros.
A private catamaran around the south coast, with swims in coves no road reaches.
The hilltop village at sunset, and the boathouses below it.
A short ferry to the quietest island of all.
It is our favourite one. We often suggest two nights in Santorini for the view, then three or four on Milos for the quiet.
Most island hotels close from November to April. For a winter trip, Athens and the Peloponnese stay open.
